Are you the adventurous type of individual who likes to try home improvement projects most people would leave to a professional? If so, we have much in common. I have completed many home improvement projects requiring I master the use of masonry tools.  And while the first time I tried a project requiring masonry tools did not turn out as I had planned, I learned from my mistakes. Since that time I have built stone retaining walls, built sidewalks and a patio with inlaid stones and layed tile in both bathrooms and in front of the family room fireplace.   Each of these projects required the use of masonry tools. These tools consist of a good level, a 4 by 8 inch mortar trowel with one serrated edge, a triangular trowel, tile glaze, grout sealer and stickers. Stickers are little pieces of plastic placed between the individual pieces of tile to keep each tile the proper distance from the next piece. A chalk line striker is also a very helpful tool to include in your list of masonry tools. Use premixed tile adhesive if you decide to take on a tiling project.
