concrete cutting tools, masonry toolsI'm remodeling my patio outdoors, and want to cut out a piece of concrete so I can put in a ficus tree in the ground, and let it grow naturally in the soil instead of keeping it in a pot which will inhibit its growth. I did some research and found that you can actually rent concrete cutting tools, but I'm thinking that it might be a better idea to let a concrete professional do it for me, because there appear to be hidden expenses when you rent concrete cutting tools because they charge for blade wear. I myself have no concrete or masonry tools, so I will probably heed the advice of one web site that said, "when in doubt, sub it out." I don't generally dig holes in patio slabs, so it's probably a good idea that I take that advice. I do like the idea of having in-ground planters in the middle of a patio, because the shade and greenery will look really great, and the plants will be able to take advantage of developing deep roots.
